About our committees
We work with several committees within the Connecting Hands association.
This means committee members are focused on certain topics, which are the following:
- Women
- Sports
- Education
- Culture
As a committee member, you will organize activities along with other enthusiastic students in the field of your interest. The board plays a role in supervising and helping the committees where necessary, but most of the time it is you and your committee members who come up with fun ideas!
There are four types of events organized, namely educational, cultural, sports and women events. The educational events represent opportunities to inform and provide help for the participants to follow a bachelor or a master degree, or even a Ph.D. in the university. Moreover, workshops are also being organized to improve chances for better jobs. The cultural events introduce the participants to cultures from around the world. While the sports events encourage them to live a healthy life and try new sports. Through the women-only events, we try to empower the female participants.
Most of the time an attendance of 30 to 60 persons is expected to every event, consisting of refugees and Dutch and international students. However due to corona the amount of attendance is between 20 and 30 persons. A yearly overview of previously organized events can be found under the tab Activities.
